Springfield Massachusetts, made another stride toward breaking down doors in the ever changing industry of Hip-Hop/Rap music. Western Massachusetts rap artist Yung Stelf has signed to the home of superstar Flo-Rida as a song writer. What’s The 413.com has the exclusive scoop.
Whatsthe413.com: Explain your new position.
Stelf: I’m signed to International Music Group (IMG) as a song writer through Jaden Group Management. I was signed by Ron May, president of IMG.
Whatsthe413.com: How did you obtain your deal?
Stelf: Years of head work.
Whatsthe413.com: What are the terms of your deal?
Stelf: The terms of the deal are still being worked out, but its 100 percent official.
Whatsthe413.com: Do you know what the first project is that you will be working on?
Stelf: My 1st projects are writing records for every artist on IMG such as Flo-Rida and Team-Flight.
Whatsthe413.com: Will you be releasing solo music through IMG?
Stelf: I will not be releasing any music on IMG (as a solo artist) we have ALOT of other labels interested in me as a solo hiphop artist so we are keeping that door open.
Whatsthe413.com How does being signed as a song writer help you in your goal to be signed as an artist?
Stelf: It allows me to use my own money to fund my career! The more hits I write for other artists draws even more attention towards me as a solo artist. Neyo was a writer first; P. Diddy, Rico Love, Sean Garret, the list goes on. I look at this as my ticket into the game, i gain access to major labels and powerful people.
Whatsthe413.com: How does it feel to have your hardwork begin to pay off?
Stelf: The feeling is beyond words to finally get a shot at where I’m trying to get to. Almost every major artist got they’re shot behind the scenes and I’m cool with that cause its still putting my foot in the door. Shout out to my manager Pierre Elliot of Jaden Group Management.
